The Miracle Camera

Over this past weekend, I had deer and elk walk in my backyard within 100 feet of each other. My family shares an Canon EOS Rebel T5. This camera is a DSLR, in my opinion one of the best. You have a choice of auto-focus or manual-focus. I prefer the manual-focus because I love the hands on feeling of the zoom and the focus. This was the first time, I ever photographed animals. It was challenging because of the loud click sound, which the animals possibly could hear then run away or freeze. We also wished we could have a longer zoom, but we had a 300mm lens.

A moving subject is very hard, since you have a chance of getting a good picture or a very blurry photo. Another way to capture a moving object is to change the shutter speed, which to be honest I have not mastered yet or understood very well. While trying to capture a moving subject I suggest that you change it to auto-focus, and repeatedly press  the capture button half way and let the lens focus itself. Then you can almost always capture a moving subject like this.

The Deer who were roaming in my yard
From my 14 almost 15 years of life, I have always been fascinated by all forms of photography, but the two that I love the most are nature and macro shots. I do not have a macro lens for any camera, yet... But I do own an OlloClip. A clip on macro, fisheye, and wide lens for a smartphone. I seem to be using a phone more and more as a quick-shoot camera instead of a generic quick-shoot camera. The clarity of the photos on new phones is unbelievable. Also having the option to edit it right when we take it, vs removing the SD card, downloading the photos, trying to find an editing software. (I know first world problem) I have probably killed about 5 Redwood trees because the amount of photos I print. I take a lot of photos, which means I print A LOT OF PHOTOS. I have a drawer filled with old photos. While I keep new ones and my favorites on my magnet board. (That almost fell while trying to hang christmas decorations.)

As I said before I love nature and animal photos. These next two are ones I took with the Rebel T5. I can say by far this is one of the best cameras
you can buy! I strongly suggest that you look into purchasing a Rebel if you have a strong passion for photography, even if your immediate family shares it with you. I am going to make a page on this blog where I post my favorite and recent photos. Hope you enjoyed!

  1. I have one of those cameras! I absolutely love the photos it takes. I'm not a photographer, but I've been able to take some amazing photos with it.
